pretty in (soft) pink

It might be a bit too predictable, but yes, I just love the colour pink. Especially the softer shade that was super on trend back in the Fall. I wanted so badly to make a post about it around October, but I just had so many other ideas for content that that one got pushed near the bottom of my list. But thankfully, soft pink is back for Spring, and it's in full swing.

The great thing about this colour trend is that you don't need to wait until April or May to bust it out. You can invest in pieces now (or even pull out those ones from Fall 2014), and wear them from now into the warmer weather. And I will show you how to do both below!

1. Scarf: UNIQLO
2. Watch: Michael Kors
3. Top: Monki
4. Earrings: Zalando
5. Coat: Blackfive
6. Skirt: River Island
7. Bag: Michael Kors
8. Pants: Farfetch
9. Pumps: Ted Baker

Traditionally, this kind of soft or pale pink colour is associated with children, Barbie, or "girly girls", but don't be afraid to tough it up a bit with a sexy black dress and accessories. Wear this outfit while it's still cold out for a formal or semi-formal affair. You may need to add some nylons or tights (depending on the weather), but go for nude or sheer black, so your legs are still visible and contrast with the dress.

Dress: Society Of Chic
Coat: Giambattista Valli
Earrings: Eva Fehren
Bracelet: River Island
Ring: Jean Paul Gaultier
Clutch: Charlotte Olympia
Pumps: Ted Baker

It's said that you can only mix prints if the colour palette is the same. Well, what if you keep the print the same and mix colours? Something about this striped ensemble is really calling to me. Save this casual outfit for when the weather gets warmer, with the jacket tied around your waist.

Top: Monki
Skirt: Witchery
Jacket: ACNE
Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Scarf: UNIQLO
Bag: Kate Spade New York
Shoes: Monki

Two more great styling options for a colour as soft and girly as this, is to pair it with a tough print, or go monochromatic by finishing off the outfit with reds and burgundies. Add even more edge to the first outfit by pairing leopard print with distressed denim, and go for a more put-together, office-ready ensemble for the second.

Sweater: H&M
Jeans: New Look
Necklace: Oscar de la Renta
Hat: Forever 21
Coat: Blackfive
Bag: Time's Arrow
Boots: ASOS

Sweater: Line
Skirt: River Island
Necklace: Sole Society
Watch: Fossil
Coat: ROMWE
Bag: Furla
Pumps: Zappos
